It is very important to know the difference between God’s responsibility and our responsibility. God has created us and has equipped us with the necessary means to improve our lives and environment. He has also ordained us to reach out to those in need around us. We need to decide to receive the call through the help of the Holy Spirit of God and to fulfill the assignments that are entrusted to us.
One of our very basic assignments is Hospitality. Jesus had compassion on the people he encountered and he nourished them with both the word of God and physical food. (Mark 6:34; Matthew 14:13-21)
Matthew 10:42 “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of the little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
Matthew 25: 34-36 “Then the king will say to those on his right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I am hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me’.”
In Shekinah Evangelical Church, we love to welcome and assist those in need and we help them to the best of our ability by the grace of God.
