In Proverbs 11:14 we read: “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety”.
In Proverbs 13:10, we read: “Through insolence comes nothing but strife, but wisdom is with those who receive counsel.”
Proverbs 15: 22 “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.”
Shekinah Evangelical Church is a safe place full of compassionate people who accept one another. We take our pastoral calling as a privilege and a huge responsibility. Whether it is to do with family problems, health problems, career problems, drug and alcohol-related problems, our counseling ministry aims to let people talk about their problems, teach them how to solve their problems and help them solve their problems.
Sessions are held in a confidential setting where no one else can enter the room or overhear the conversation. Records of names, date, time, and content of the session are stored securely and closely guarded. Our support system is a focused approach that recognizes boundaries and will make the appropriate referral whenever more professional help is necessary. We act in accordance with the law and will report cases of homicide, sexual and physical abuse, and child abuse to the appropriate authorities. Other than in these circumstances and similar ones, confidentiality is maintained and no disclosure is made to third parties except where requested by the person or ordered by a civil court.
We see ourselves as channels of God’s love and pay special attention to the vulnerabilities of individuals. We are sensitive to their cultural, family and religious backgrounds and make these a part of their frame of reference. We respect their dignity and personal boundaries.
Jesus Christ is Our Lord.
